Music to a Beginning

the night fled, midnight took its bow
and left a single lonesome call
an owl staring into the flirting,
smiling dawn
hoot-hoot-hoot

midnight took its bow, skirting dawn
and left a rhythmic sound
a cricket giving concert to the fading,
twinkling stars
chirp-chirp-chirp

skirting dawn, it spreads out its rays, seeping into bleak eyes
and welcomes a cheerful din
a rooster belting out a serenade to the bright,
radiant Helios
cock-a-doodle-doo

***

Music comes in every form. There are beginnings and endings everywhere. Have a lovely April First.
