The Night Fades

emerging, nascent comes the night.
Content to fill the heart with a
a soft and weeping lullaby

we reach out for the innocence
that the the dark eats whole.
That secular fruit begging light, lies

emerging, nascent comes the night.
Tugging the heart and mind
feeding the begger dreams and hopes

resolve that feeds the senses
it rings in our ears, indomintable
yet when we rise again, there is nothing but self-lies

done, done, the night fades.
Lies, it spoke of lies
a soft lullaby, that spoke of might have beens
