The Golden Touch

Midas had the golden touch
a mortal treasure
for an unhappy man

A bowl of gold
a fork, a sword, and woven cloth
all made of cold gleaming metal
for an unhappy man

A living rose
turned into useless stone
for an unhappy man

They say he turned his daughter into gold
did he really care?
I have heard so many versions
of this unhappy man

But I think that we can all agree
that we can answer at least one
question to this tale
Midas had a deadly touch.

I’ve been reading Greek myths again. The Odyssey at the moment. I was thinking about a poem on Scylla and Charybdis… we’ll see. And I thought Midas cause my hand is covered in gold glitter:)
